Jesus and Me

A welcoming space for kids birth through 6th grade to grow in their faith, ask meaningful questions, and build relationships with peers and Christian mentors. We partner with parents to disciple children through engaging Sunday teaching, helping every child know they are loved and that they belong.  

Sunday Mornings

Classes are available for both 9 and 10:30am services
Nursery
Two nurseries are available each Sunday morning at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. and staffed by at least two volunteers (a teacher/leader and a helper).
  • Crib Room –Infants through 17 months
  • Climbers Room – 18 months through 2 years 
This is also available on Wednesday evening programs (if you serve) for from birth to 3 years old.  
PreSchool (3s and young 4s)

9am Service
Preschoolers are in a classroom with spaces for play, learning, and their own restrooms. Through play, movement, snacks, and structured activities, they engage Bible lessons using the Gospel Project.

10:30am Service
Preschool kids stay in the same classroom and utilize the Show Me Jesus curriculum. 

PreK/Kindergarten (older 4s and Kindergarteners)
9am Service
PreK and Kindergarteners begin with worship (JAM City or Family Worship), then head to class for Gospel Project lessons and activities.

10:30am Service
They enjoy a 30-minute choir time—performing throughout the year—followed by snack and an engaging Bible lesson.
Grades 1st-6th
9am Service:
Kids begin with worship (in JAM City or Family Worship) then move to JAM Session for a Gospel Project Bible lesson. The hour ends with a short break for fellowship, games, or creative activities.

10:30am Service:
Kids meet in grade-based classes (1st–2nd, 3rd–4th, 5th–6th). Younger groups reinforce the lesson through activities, while 5th–6th graders focus on personal Bible study and foundational faith questions to build both understanding and application.

First Sunday of the month:

PreK–6th grade begins in JAM City for worship, then follows their regular schedule.

All Other Sundays (Family Worship):

PreK-6th grade will start in the Worship Center with their families, then are dismissed to JAM City after music.

FAQs

Where do I go?
Parents check-in/pick up their children at the CheckPoint desk in the foyer. Parents or predesignated adults can pick up their children, but kids will not be released to older siblings. 
Curriculum
All our grade levels, Preschool-6th grade use Lifeway’s The Gospel Project. The Gospel Project is a 3-year chronological study of the Bible showing how the Bible is more than just a random set of stories, but rather a letter of love pointing us to Christ.  
What Is Family Worship Sunday?
We want families to worship together here at WHBC! We’ve designated the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sunday each month to “Family Worship Sunday”, during the 9:00 a.m. service only.

All kids, PreK-6th grade will check in to JAM City and then go with their parents to the worship service to participate in the music portion of the service. After worship time is over, they are dismissed to the foyer where our volunteers will meet them.

Child Safety
Safety is a top priority in JAM City!  Our programs are in our secured children's area. Classrooms are staffed with a minimum of one teacher and helper, who are all background checked. 
Allergy
Our children’s area is nut free 24/7. This means there are no types of nut products in the entire area during activities throughout the week.
